To ensure the best quality for parts in production, many products will undergo many CMM quality inspections between processes. Although the act interrupts the fluency of production and increases the risk of poor quality due to parts being constantly removed and inspected. Chaheng has overcome these problems after the on-board process measurement was introduced. Once the CNC machining is completed, the automatic tool changer (Auto Tool Changer, ATC) calls the ruby probe to directly measure the parts which is machined and uploads the data online through the customized CNC program in order to obtain first-hand information. On-board measurement greatly reduces production interruption and human loss caused due to the need of quality inspection. The measurement data is continuously fed back to the controller to correct error values, which the controller can optimize the products quality, this greatly reduces the reliance of CMM and its high cost.
