Abrasive Flow Polishing uses the medium which is made of viscous fluid with adding abrasive grain to process. The polymer fluid has viscoelastic characteristics, it shows with reduced viscosity and better fluidity as the processing time changes. It can perform a very uniform grinding effect on the depths of the surface and on the airfoil surface of the components. The hard abrasive particles directly contact the processing surface under a certain pressure resulting in extremely small and deep deburring effect, in order for the fulfillment on the requirements of 3D curve precision and high-level surface roughness of the superalloy turbine engine components. This technology has been applied to many key engine components and certified by GE Aviation.
